File sizes, aspect ratios, and platform restrictions
Instagram aspect ratios and cropping
- Portrait: 4:5, Landscape: 1.91:1, Square: 1:1.
- We auto-fit uploads to the safest size; use the preview to confirm no important content is trimmed.
Video upload limits
- Twitter/X: up to 512 MB, 140 seconds for most accounts.
- TikTok: follow your account limit (generally < 10 minutes and < 1 GB via API) and keep codecs to H.264/AAC.
- YouTube: follow account verification rules; unverified channels have shorter limits.
Platform-level rate limits and restrictions
- SyncPostly caps to 100 posts per hour per user to prevent platform API bans. Heavy automation should use the queue with delays.
- Some networks throttle duplicate media hashes. If you recycle a video, change the intro or add a watermark.
Instagram carousel photo limit
- Instagram only accepts up to 10 photos per carousel through the API. If you upload more, we send the first 10.
